The meaning of life? There is no meaning... There's no point... Let's face it, you'll never get out of it alive |

The creationist might have something to say about that!
The answer to ' What is the Meaning of Life!'
a) A film by Monty Python.
b) 42 (if you include the Universe and Everything).
c) I'll tell you when I can gain an objective view of it.
d) Self Actualisation.
e) To live it before it's over.
f) Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps
g) God Knows! - and is probably the only one who does.
h) To ask 'What is the Meaning of Life'.
i) Define Life?
j) Define Meaning?
k) To seek enlightenment
l)) Ask Bush and Blair - 36,000 Iraqi's dead and the body counts still rising
m) Don't think about it - just get on with it.

The mean of life
Zen Buddhists believe that true nirvana comes from when you accept the fragile nature of life and that the only 1 true thing in life is that you will die.
If you learn to live each day as it where you?re last then you can truly appreciate the small things in your life that you take for granted.
Another quote which I poetically like is from Bruce Lee
"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend" |

Quite the opposite... The point of our life is to try and get our end away - which means keeping the ladies sweet
And as for Mr Lee's comments... Was he aware that there's water in the pan of my toilet? I for one don't want to be that water |

| In response to Steve Ts comment, i have accepted that life is fragile and short - this just depresses me, and if I try and act like each day was my last, then people get fed up. For example, I would want to spend every waking minute with my mates and bloke, but then all kinds of hell would break loose. I guess we just have to find that happy medium and stick with it! |

To Steve C, soz I called you Steve T and you're right, life does suck. But i guess it is the smallest things that can make it all worthwhile and it is imperative that we don't forget.
Someome asked me what my goals were for 5 years from now. I am 33 and said that my goal is to be 38....ha hahahahahaah |

Not sure I'd agree that life sucks... Life just is. I mean, it's probably a by product of my whole radical aethism(sp?) but I don't believe in fate, or in signs, or in spookyness or anything like that... Nor do I think that life has a mind of it's own... Life just is, and it's down to you to make what you can of it...
As far as anyone can prove you only get one go at it, so you might as well try to make it a good one It's kinda like that bloody annoying american saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.." There's no reason to just take it lying down... If your other half dumps you, take it as a chance to experience a new partner - or try out those things you can only really do while single. If you're made redundant, try a new job that you'd always considered, but had never gotten around to doing anything about...
After all, what've you got to loose?
That's my philosophy anyways. |

I don’t get it!
If there is supposed to be a point to life then why don’t we know it?
Why are we so obsessed about finding the meaning of life?
Why does the majority of people think it would be nice to come back and do it all again?
I tell you one thing I bet the animal planet don’t sit there trying to figure out the meaning of life!
And I dare say they are much happier for not worrying about it.
AND why the HELL is life like a box of chocolates?

Maybe, just maybe the point of life is to discover the point of life?

See above

Who knows if an animal's really happy? I don't. Can they even distinguish "Happiness"? It's all a bit complex and metaphysical at this point
| Steve_C wrote: | | AND why the HELL is life like a box of chocolates? |
Coz some bugger has always nicked the all nice bits before anyone lets me know that they're available |
